ROB WILLIAMS NAMED DEFENSIVE COACH OF THE VANCOUVER WARRIORS

Vancouver, B.C. – The Vancouver Warriors General Manager and Head Coach Curt Malawsky announced today that Rob Williams has been named Defensive Coach.

“Rob is extremely diligent, dedicated and loyal to the teams he coaches,” said Malawsky. “His exceptional prowess with the X’s and O’s coupled with his player-focused coaching style ensures that the team’s full potential is maximized. Having grown up in British Columbia, Rob’s passion for the success of lacrosse in our province is evident and we are fortunate to welcome him to the Warriors family.”

Williams joins the Warriors after having spent the past season as the Assistant Coach of the Las Vegas Desert Dogs.  Prior to his stint in the desert, Williams was the Defensive Coach alongside Warriors GM and Head Coach Curt Malawsky in Calgary from 2016 to 2020, culminating in a triumphant NLL Championship victory with the Roughnecks in 2019. Williams also served as the Assistant Coach of the Iroquois Nationals in 2019, helping lead the squad to a Silver Medal at the 2019 World Indoor Lacrosse Championships.

A native of Pitt Meadows, BC, Williams is currently the Head Coach of the Maple Ridge Burrards (WLA), a position he has held for the past six seasons. Under his leadership, the Burrards have achieved remarkable success, clinching the WLA Championship in both 2016 and 2018.
