Vancouver Warriors sign 2x NLL MVP Shawn Evans

8x Mann Cup Champion, Top 10 NLL in all time scoring

VANCOUVER BC – The Vancouver Warriors are pleased to announce the signing of two time NLL MVP, forward Shawn Evans, pending NLL approval.

Evans, 36, from Peterborough, Ontario, helped lead the Peterborough Lakers to the MANN Cup Championship this past week. For Evans, it was his record setting eighth title.  Evans also became the Mann Cup all time leading scorer over this past year’s competition.

In the NLL, Shawn Evans is a two time MVP who ranks in the top 10 in goals scored (457- 10th), Assists (838- 5th) and points (1295- 6th).  Evans is a 4X first team NLL All Star and helped Rochester win the NLL Championship in 2007.

“Shawn is a highly intelligent and skilled lacrosse player,” said Warriors Head Coach Troy Cordingley. “His compete level is through the roof and for Shawn, losing is not an option.  Shawn will battle for every inch that he can get and will not back down from anyone.  He leads be example.”

“To sign a player of Shawn Evans’ calibre is a big step for this organization,” comments Warriors General Manager Dan Richardson. “He wins at every level and will have an immediate impact on our team.”

“I’m extremely excited to join the Vancouver Warriors,” remarked Evans.  “I believe this team is heading in the right direction and I’m hoping to be a part of bringing a winning culture to this organization.

“There are many talented players on this roster,” continued Evans. “I look forward to adding to this team any way I can to make us a playoff contender.
