With the Vancouver Warriors regular season just passing the 1/3 mark, the team still has its eye on an NLL playoff position and continues to show improvements in its defensive play on the floor under new Coach and General Manager Curt Malawsky. Off the floor, the Warriors have celebrated a number of fun and engaging theme nights, including Home Opener, a record-setting Country Night, and most recently, College Night.
These nights have allowed the Warriors to connect with our fans across the province and expand our Warriors family. The energy at Rogers Arena has been electric this season, and we continue to look forward to our fans’ support each week!
The Warriors announced today that thanks to a partnership with Marvel, Saturday, February 10th will be Super Hero™ Night, against the Saskatchewan Rush.
Marvel Super Hero™ Night highlighting the league’s partnership with Marvel, allows the Warriors to bring together two fan favourites: hard-hitting, fast-paced lacrosse and the Marvel Universe.
The night will be full of action, fun and unique Marvel-themed activations. The Warriors will debut specialty jerseys for the evening, combining their look with Marvel’s Thanos. Select jerseys will be up for auction, with partial proceeds going to the BC Lacrosse Association. The remaining jerseys in the collection will be available to win in a variety of contests.
A one-of-a-kind custom comic book, featuring Warriors’ star Keegan Bal, will be available to the first 1,000 fans that arrive at Rogers Arena! Another 2,000 will be available throughout the game. This comic book creates a direct link between fans of the Marvel Universe and the Vancouver Warriors, bringing Bal’s prowess on the floor to life in the comic titled, “Marvel Legends of Lax”.
Come and support your Warriors in your best Marvel gear to be crowned the winner of our costume contest! The night will also feature airbrush tattoos, contests, giveaways, and more. The atmosphere will integrate our fans into the action, making them central characters in our battle with Saskatchewan.
Thanos: The Mad Titan
“I’ve come home. Because I’m tired of running from who I am. From who I was born to be.”
The power and strength exerted by Thanos reaches all corners of the universe, similar to the brute power and strength of the Vancouver Warriors and their suffocating defensive structure. As his bio states, “Growing in power and infamy as he traverses the stars, Thanos regularly causes wanton destruction and leaves a devastating swath of chaos in his wake, often seeking out terrifying sources of cosmic power, like the legendary Infinity Stones, in an effort to see all of existence tremble in his shadow.”
The Warriors will look to use their collection of Infinity Stones on defence to wipe out any attack the opposition can muster on February 10th.
