Warriors sink Seals for big home win

Vancouver 14, San Diego 12

VANCOUVER – The Vancouver Warriors snapped a four game losing streak and took down the division leading San Diego Seals 14-12 before 7683 rowdy fans on Country Night at Rogers Arena.

Ladner’s Logan Schuss had a memorable night for the home side.  After tallying his 500th career point in last week’s game in Denver, Schuss put on a show scoring twice, including his 200th career goal, and adding six assists for a tidy eight point night.  Kyle Killen continued his scoring ways for Vancouver as well, notching 4 goals on the night and surpassing 30 goals on the season.

Marty Dinsdale and Keegan Bal also scored a pair for Vancouver while rookie Adam Charalambides potted a pair for the Warriors including the game winner, short handed midway through the 4th quarter.  Riley Loewen and Ryan Martel also scored for Vancouver, with Bal notched another impressive night with six assists for an eight point night.

Alex Buque turned aside 38 shots in the win, including holding the vaunted San Diego offence off the board in the final eleven minutes of the contest, including a five minute major penalty in the final eight minutes of the game.

With the victory, Vancouver snaps a four game losing streak and tightens their hold on 3rd place in the Western Conference at 6-7.  Next up, a double header weekend, kicking off in Calgary on Friday night April 1 before heading back to Rogers Arena for a matchup against the Albany Fire Wolves on Saturday night April 2nd at 7 PM.
