HAMILTON ONT – The Toronto Rock scored the first six goals of the game in the opening 10 minutes of the first quarter and never looked back, handing the Vancouver Warriors a 19-8 defeat at the First Ontario Centre in the Steel City.

Tom Schreiber paced Toronto to their victory, scoring three goals and adding five assists for eight points on the evening.  North Delta’s Mitch Jones returned to the Warriors lineup for his first NLL action in 10 months and led the Warriors with five points (one goal and four assists).

Also scoring for the Warriors on opening night were Adam Charalambides and Burnaby’s Riley Loewen with a pair of goals apiece, with Keegan Bal (Coquitlam BC), Logan Schuss (Ladner) and Owen Barker (Armstrong).

Steve Fryer and Aden Walsh both saw action in goal for Vancouver, facing a combined 65 shots on goal in the loss.

Vancouver concludes their opening two game road trip next week in Calgary, facing off against Western Conference rivals, the Roughnecks, at the Scotiabank Saddledome, on Saturday, December 10th.  Opening faceoff on this nationally televised game will be at 6 PM on TSN.

The Warriors return home on Friday December 16 with a return engagement against the Calgary Roughnecks at Rogers Arena. The action gets started at 7 PM.
