Seals push past Warriors 16-11

SAN DIEGO CA – Two three goal runs, one at the end of the second quarter and one early in the third quarter, powered the San Diego Seals to a 16-11 win over the Vancouver Warriors in a hotly contested game in Southern California.

Vancouver saw Shawn Evans score twice, his first two in Warriors colours, while Kyle Killen and Riley Loewen each scored a pair of goals in the loss. Keegan Bal and Reid Bowering also put up singles.

The Warriors player of the game despite the defeat was Assistant Captain Mitch Jones of Delta BC.  Jones scored three times and added three assists for a six points on the evening, including his 400th NLL point.

Coquitlam’s Reid Bowering also had a solid night. In addition to scoring a goal, Bowering collected 18 loose balls, causing two turnovers and blocking another three shots.

Aden Walsh took the loss in his first career NLL start, turning aside 27 shots.
