- WARM SOCKS FOR THE HOMELESS – An ode to the “Sock Trick” (when a player scores six goals), fans are encouraged to celebrate the tradition by throwing 4,000 new pairs of socks (handed out on arrival) on the field at half time. The new pairs of socks will be donated to individuals in the Downtown Eastside and throughout Vancouver. By donating one of the most needed items, everyone will walk away with a warm feeling inside. The Warriors have teamed up with the Ministry of Health and Addictions to raise awareness and distribute socks for the Union Gospel Mission, YWCA Crabtree Corner, Kettle Society, Covenant House and branches of the Downtown Community Health Centre.
